Sugar and Autoimmune Disease: Best Friends Forever

Ever heard that phrase ‘CANCER LOVES SUGAR’?  The popular saying is based off of fact that sugar blocks the livers’ ability to clear toxins from the blood.

People with a high toxic burden are more susceptible to autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and thyroid disease, as well as certain types of cancers, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, asthma, and allergies.  They are also “15 times more likely to develop type 2 diabetes,” according to Dr. Walter Crinnion who was quoted in Amazing Wellness Magazine.

Keep in mind, not all sugar is bad.  But avoid the refined sugars and white flour when you can.  As always, opt for carbohydrates in the form of fruits, cruciferous vegetables, and whole grains!
