Frozen Banana Ice Cream!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July yesterday. It was a beautiful, sunny day in southern California– the perfect kind of weather for cooking barbecue, sipping cold drinks, and going out for ice cream.  Or better yet, making your own from scratch!  What a cool idea, blending frozen bananas into ice cream.  And so delicious… This recipe is just too good not to talk about.

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 ripe bananas

Directions:

  1. Peel the bananas and slice into coins.
  2. Leave in the freezer for 1-2 hours, until frozen solid.
  3. Blend in a food processor, pulsing until all the chunks are gone and ice cream has a thick, creamy consistency.

Make it even better?

What about dreaming up some new flavors? Like it sweet: Add a couple tablespoons of Nutella or unsweetened cocoa powder, peanut butter and raw honey, or a dash of cinnamon.  Make it a breakfast/post-workout snack: Top with strawberries or blueberries, granola, or sliced almonds.
