21 Day Detox – Day 5

Day 5 is the day we all drink the 7 Day Body Cleanse, which is a mild colon/liver cleanse.  It contains spirulina, algae, milk thistle, aloe vera, lots of good stuff.  I mix mine with sparkling water – 32 ounces!!  Helps make sure I”m drinking enough fluid!

Enjoyed lunch today with friends, had a Detox friendly salad with romaine, avocado, cucumber in a lemon/olive oil dressing and a cup of veggie/lentil soup.  And 3 glasses of water.  The basket of bread was tempting but I didn’t cheat!

Dinner tonight was SO easy and tasted good and my husband loved it.

Chopped 2 chicken breast, 2 chicken thighs; sauteed in olive oil until browned; added a drizzle of sesame oil and then a container of pre-cut Asian stir fry vegetables.  I sprinkled maybe a tsp of crushed red pepper flakes and simmered until everything was cooked but the veggies weren’t mushy.

Served on brown rice.  Didn’t even miss the SOY SAUCE that would normally go with a stir fry!

I also sauteed a couple of extra chicken thighs for salads and sandwiches tomorrow. 

Look for pre-cut veggies when you can OR spend extra time when you are chopping to chop extra for a few days.  Such a time saver!
