21 Day Detox – DAY 1

Today, January 7th, I’m teaching and participating in the RD Detox –  21 Day Detox program.  My goal is to post everyday about how things are going and include food tips.  I did the program in 2012 in February and lost almost 15 pounds; about 3 of them came back so I’m hoping to get rid of them, but mostly melt off some bodyfat!

I’m really excited for the two groups I’m working with; one is a “virtual” group and our first call is tonight and the other is the “guy’s detox” class which includes my husband and 2 friends.  They have all been ‘talking about’ doing the cleanse thing for awhile and I’m so excited that they are going to participate. Most of my Detox clients last year were women so I’m looking forward to the guy’s perspective and feedback.  They are calling it “Fat Camp” LOL!

I started preparing yesterday with a trip to Trader Joe’s; some of the items are pictured below.

After a cup of tea, this morning we both had an Arbonne vanilla protein shake with Daily Fiber Boost and Digestion Plus (pre/pro biotic and digestive enzymes) added.

For my husband, I packed turkey sandwiches on gluten free bread with avocado and and lettuce, apple slices and a small bag of cashews for snack if needed towards the end of the day.

I’m making a chicken and mushroom dish for dinner; served with brown basmati rice and a big salad. 

Time to refill my water bottle!! Drinking lots of water to clear out toxins!
