Do You Eat Too Fast?

Mindful Eating lessons from dogs at a McDonald’s Drive-Thru.

I absolutely can’t resist sharing this video, that has already gone viral. It reminds me of when I had my own dogs and McDonald’s ice cream cones were one of their favorite treats. (but each dog got their own cone.)

What I love about Daisy, is that she reminds me of one of the tips from my book, Psyched to Be Skinny: How to Stop Emotional Eating, Enjoy Healthy Weight Loss & Keep It Off for Life!which is “3 Polite Bites.”  This is a tip that you can use when you want to enjoy a taste of something more decadent, but don’t want to feel guilty about eating the “whole thing.” Enjoy 3 Polite Bites, savor them, and be done!  It actually isn’t that hard to do – try it!

Cooper reminds me of my “20 Minute Rule” – it takes about 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain it’s full – so if you eat really fast it can result in being super FULL or STUFFED instead of satisfied.  I talk a lot about meal timing with my clients and in my courses. I find that teachers and nurses often eat really fast out of necessity because of their schedule. Do you eat too fast?- if you have been having trouble losing weight, it might be a fast eating issue.

If you want to eat more mindfully, think like Daisy!   I hope this video gave you a laugh, too!

Thanks to Coopers Dogpatch for this fun viral video!!
